It’s not just Italians who are being told to stay home and reduce travel to a minimum. In France, Spain, Germany, Poland, Belgium and a raft of other countries, emergency measures are in place. The new coronavirus reminds us of our vulnerability as humans. It’s also a stark reminder of how ill-prepared we are for the shocks that await us if we don’t halt climate change.
